The latest mandates

Uniquely equipped to deliver exacting requirements

CMHC launched the Rapid Housing Initiative (RHI), as part of the National Housing Strategy, to help communities quickly create new, permanent, affordable and supportive housing units.

Contributions from the RHI are contingent on meeting strict schedules and adhering to technical mandates for sustainable, quality construction. Community Builders developed three properties in London, Ontario, in the first round of RHI: 122 Base Line Road West, 403 Thompson Road, and 345 Sylvan Street. Each had thorough specifications from the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) of London, a strict budget and an ambitious schedule that allowed just 36 months from the transfer of land from the city to the occupancy of the first property. They were among the first projects completed successfully under the RHI.

Community Builders can deliver projects under the RHI because we provide a single source of responsibility for affordable housing developments.
